The fashion world is always changing and evolving, however, sometimes we let some things linger for a little too long… Here’s a completely opinionated guide on what is in and what is out for the upcoming seasons.

In: Sophisticated Street
Street style has been a go to style for many people in the fashion world, Celebs like Hailey Bieber, Kendall Jenner, Gigi Hadid, and Madison Beer are often seen incorporating “street” into their everyday style. Street does not always have to look extremely effortful and fancy though, a simple pair of jeans, sneakers, and a tank could be considered street, however, street is considered sophisticated because it always looks put together and intentional.

Out: (Childish) Y2K Style
Don’t get me wrong I love a good Paris Hilton tracksuit moment, but some of the recent Y2K trends have been getting a little tacky and/or childish. A pair of lowrise jeans, a cute graphic tank, and a fun trucker hat could be a super cute and trendy outfit if that’s your thing, but when you add the furry animal print purse, neon color hair clips, and butterfly thong sticking out, it feels a little less like fashion, and more like dress up.

In: Knee High Boots
After Doc Martens became popular again in recent years, boots have been a huge essential no matter what the season, or trend. Recently taller knee high boots have been coming back for this upcoming fall, no not the riding boots everyone wore in 2015, more like tall leather platform/heeled boots.

Out: Suede Thigh High Boots
When these first became a trend a while ago, you could see celebs like, Ariana Grande and the Kardashians, rocking their classic oversized sweatshirt and thigh high boots outfits. Why? because these boots are almost like a full pair of pants. I believe all thigh high boots should get canceled because of how overpowering and tacky they can look, but I have to admit some people can rock a leather thigh high boot, so I’m settling for the classic suede lace up ones. These are just overdone at this point and can either completely take away from a look, or they’re just annoying to wear. Either way, I think switching these out for a pair of knee high leather boots would make all the difference.

In: Baggy Jeans
We’ve all seen it and heard about it, skinny jeans are out! The baggier the jean, the better. Lately, baggy jeans have been making a huge comeback, which is to be expected after Mom, Boyfriend, Girlfriend, and Dad jeans became more and more popular. We are leaning more towards baggy jeans these days as it looks better with tighter clothes, fits in with the current streetwear looks, and frankly they just look way more stylish. Baggy Jeans also have the advantage that they are easier to shop for and look good in, skinny jeans have to fit you perfectly in order to look good, and we all know what a struggle that is.

Out: Skinny Jeans
I’m not going to lie, I do miss my black skinny jeans from time to time, however, skinny jeans getting canceled is for our own good. Not only were skinny jeans very restricting and hard to shop for, but again, if you didn’t have a perfectly fitting pair, they just didn’t look right either. Not to mention how bad they would look with trending sneakers like Jordan 1’s, and Nike Dunks. With skinny jeans gone, we can focus more on the hundreds of different types of baggy jeans we can get.
